Places to Hike/Walk
Carmel Beach Walk- Highly recommend!
You can either walk on the beach (dog friendly) or the path above that begins at the end of Ocean Ave. Walk along Scenic Drive to Carmel River State Beach with views of the Pacific, Pebble Beach, Point Lobos and more. We suggest grabbing a coffee first at Carmel Valley Roasting Co. on Ocean! (Easy and flat walk if you park at the end of Ocean Ave, will be a hill on the way back if you decide to walk!)
Palo Corona Regional Park
A beautiful local hiking spot just inland. Offers peaceful trails through rolling hills with sweeping views of Carmel Valley and the Pacific Ocean.
Point Lobos State Reserve
Known as the “crown jewel of the California State Park System. Wander along scenic trails through Monterey cypress forests, cliffs, hidden coves, and beaches with views of the Pacific Ocean. Paid parking ($10) inside the park or park along Highway 1 and walk to the entrance (free).
